CBT stands for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
CBT can help you manage your problems by changing the way you think and behave. It is one of the most common and effective treatments for a range of mental health problems, such as anxiety, depression, OCD, PTSD and more because its a short-term and goal-oriented therapy focussing on your current problems and symptoms, rather than reflecting on past experiences and issues.
CBT can be delivered in different formats, such as individual, group or online therapy.
We offer our services via a simple and safe, password protected video link which enables us to work with people all around the world whilst providing minimal interruption to our clients daily lives.
We do offer home visits under special circumstances for an additional fee.
Clients in the UK may notice that CBT is frequently offered within the NHS and international clients may recognise insurance companies often recommend it. This because of its ability to give a person the tools to better manage their moods, behaviour and thoughts within a short duration of time. This makes CBT a fast and effective method of therapy.
However, whilst we recognise how lucky we are to be able to access such care; we also recognise the restrictions this comes with, such as a bias towards offering CBT to patients who would better benefit from a more intensive, time consuming therapy for financial purposes, rather than because its within the patients best interest.
We offer CBT to all of our mental health clients whether you're seeking it alone or choosing a more in-depth talking therapy because it provides you with a healthy understanding of your mind, thoughts and behaviours which enables you to better support yourself throughout life and during psychotherapy and counselling.
CBT is based on the idea that your thoughts, feelings, physical sensations and actions are interconnected, and that negative thoughts and feelings can trap you in a negative cycle. This therapy aims to help you deal with overwhelming problems in a more positive way by breaking them down into smaller parts. You’re shown how to change these negative patterns to improve the way you feel. This can help you better manage problems by breaking them down into smaller parts.
