About Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy is a type of talk therapy that can help you to change negative patterns, overcome trauma, grief, resolve internal and external conflicts, increase self-esteem and understand yourself in greater depth.

Psychotherapy is an effective and evidence-based treatment for many mental health issues. Psychotherapy can help you improve your symptoms, well-being and quality of life. Your psychotherapist can also help you to develop strategies to prevent or reduce the risk of relapse or recurrence of your problems.

Psychotherapy sessions are usually done once a week on the same day/time for consistency.

Sessions last 50 minutes (or longer if you've requested an intensive session) and would typically be 1:1 but  can also be delivered as couple, family or group sessions.

Our appointments are completed online using password protected video links (complying with Privacy laws & rules). Home appointments can be arranged in special circumstances (at additional cost).

Whilst we would all benefit from a course of psychotherapy to optimise our happiness and potential, some of the reasons you might seek out psychotherapy could be.

  • Long-term stress from a job or family situation,
  • Loss & grief
  • A relationship breakdown or family problems
  • Depression, anxiety, phobias or OCD
  • Healing from trauma or abuse
  • Managing chronic pain, illness or disability
  • Overcoming addiction, substance abuse or dependency
  • Improving your performance, creativity or productivity
  • Enhancing your personal growth, potential and happiness
  • Issues with food and self acceptance & much, much more.

There are many different types of psychotherapy, each with its own theory, methods and techniques.

We are trained within multiple methods and generally prefer to use an approach known as 'An Integrative approach' which combines elements from different types of psychotherapy to suit your individual needs and preferences. Integrative therapy can help you address multiple aspects of your problem and find the best solution for you and helps us to personalise your care rather than being restricted with a one-size-fits-all approach.

If you are interested in psychotherapy or have any questions, you can contact us today for a free initial consultation with an accredited, highly qualified and experienced therapist who will provide a safe, confidential and supportive space where you can express yourself freely and explore your issues free from judgment.
